About Me
Wong Yi Ming, Victor
Frontend Engineer · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Graduated Taylor's University February 2025 with a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons), and a minor in Creative Media Design. Self taught frontend and decided that was my sweet spot because I enjoy building on top of creativity.
I mainly work around the React ecosystem and occasionally extend into other domains base on use cases. I have spent the past two years shipping production features across a global crypto trading platform and enterprise tooling. My sense of accomplishment comes from solving user problems and getting user feedback.
Outside of work: gym, books, games, and occasionally making music.
Development Setup
Former Technical Lead of Agents of Tech at Taylor's for two consecutive years, I helped led the club to Best Event of the Year 2023 through the club signature ImagineHack hackathon and Best Club of the Year 2024. I moderated Tech Forums and technical workshops to grow the campus tech community, and partnered with a refugee education school in Subang to deliver a Figma design workshop for underprivileged students. I still return as an alumni volunteer, conducting a recent pre-hackathon backend workshop and mentoring teams through the event.
As Project Manager for Taylor's Orientation Leaders, I helped manage the signature orientation party event for 1,800 attendees. I built a ticket queuing system to overcome a persisting crowd management problem, and co-planned a flashmob performance by handling the choreography and audio editing alongside fellow PMs.
